In the 2003 movie "Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine" (名探偵コナン 黒鉄の魚影, Meitantei Konan: Kurogane no Sabumarin), there's a scene that sent the CoAi Faction into a frenzy. Conan recreates the classic "Superman glasses" moment for Haibara, a scene that originally appeared in the anime TV series during the "Reunion with the Black Organization" arc. In this iconic moment, Conan puts glasses on Haibara, claiming it's to disguise her identity. However, fans can't help but see it as a subtle yet sweet gesture of care and protection.

This particular scene in the movie was like a victory lap for the CoAi Faction. It was as if the creators were giving a subtle nod to the fans who tirelessly analyze every glance, every touch, and every word exchanged between Conan and Haibara. For the CoAi Faction, it's not just about the glasses; it's about the underlying message that Conan is there for Haibara, protecting her and supporting her through thick and thin.

So, when this scene made its grand appearance in the movie, you can bet there was a collective cheer from the CoAi Faction. It was a moment of triumph, a confirmation of their unwavering belief in the bond between Conan and Haibara. And who knows? Maybe in some parallel universe, there's an alternate ending where Conan and Haibara ride off into the sunset, leaving the world of crime-solving behind. But until then, the CoAi Faction will continue to revel in these small yet significant moments of connection between their favorite detective duo.

👤 CHARACTERS

Conan Edogawa (江戸川 コナン, Edogawa Konan)

Shinichi Kudo, known as a brilliant high school detective in Japan, is renowned for cracking complex cases for the police. His life takes a dramatic turn when he's ambushed by the mysterious Black Organization and forced to ingest an experimental poison. Instead of killing him, the poison unexpectedly transforms him into a child. To conceal his true identity and continue his investigation, he adopts the alias Conan Edogawa, inspired by famous mystery writers Arthur Conan Doyle and Edogawa Ranpo.

As Conan, he lives with his childhood friend Ran Mori and her father, a private detective, which allows him to discreetly solve cases while searching for clues to take down the Black Organization. Despite his small stature, Conan's intellect remains sharp, and he uses various gadgets to aid in his investigations.

One of the poignant aspects of Shinichi's predicament is his relationship with Ran. He harbors deep feelings for her but is unable to confess or reveal his true identity, fearing it would put her in danger. This adds an emotional layer to his character, as he navigates his dual life with the hope of one day returning to his normal self and being with Ran.

Ai Haibara (灰原 哀, Haibara Ai)

Shiho Miyano, also known as Sherry in the Black Organization, is a brilliant chemist responsible for creating the poison APTX 4869, which accidentally shrinks Jimmy Kudo. After her sister Akemi is killed by the organization, Shiho attempts suicide with the drug, but instead of dying, she too becomes small. At 18, she escapes the organization and hides under the alias Ai Haibara.

Ai Haibara is a complex character with a troubled past. She's a half-Japanese, half-English genius who grew up in the United States. Her parents and sister were also involved with the Black Organization, making her betrayal deeply personal. Despite her initial standoffish demeanor, Ai Haibara slowly opens up to her new companions. She often assists Conan in solving cases and gathering information to dismantle the Black Organization, all while searching for a cure to their shared condition. With strawberry blonde hair and a sharp mind, Ai Haibara is a valuable ally in the fight against crime. Her character, conceived as Ran Mori's polar opposite, adds depth and intrigue to the series.

In this thrilling Detective Conan story, the Black Organization is back with a sinister plot involving a cutting-edge surveillance system at the Pacific Buoy, an Interpol underwater facility. The system, equipped with "All-Age Recognition" technology, becomes a target when it's revealed that it can identify Haibara as Shiho Miyano, a former member of the Black Organization.

The story kicks off with a chase in Frankfurt, where a Europol agent is murdered by Black Organization members Kir and Gin. Meanwhile, Conan and his friends are enjoying a trip to Hachijo-jima, but the vacation takes a dark turn when Haibara is kidnapped by the organization.

Tensions rise as the Black Organization attempts to destroy the Buoy using a submarine, but their plans are thwarted by Conan and Shuichi Akai, who manages to damage the submarine with a well-aimed shot.

The story takes an emotional turn when Naomi recognizes Haibara as a childhood friend who once protected her from bullies. In a surprising twist, it's revealed that Vermouth, disguised as Shiho, staged a flaw in the system to throw off the investigation.
